Crazy for Carts!

So I think almost everyone is aware of the bar cart craze that is going on.  Everyone wants one (including me) but most of them are way out of my budget.  I’ve seen some that are over a thousand dollars! Now, I don’t know about you but this is something that I wanted to have to showcase my two-buck-chuck… not my bottle of Dom.  But not only for that, it should be an accessory for your home.  After searching all the usual places I finally searched online and found one that wasn’t a budget buster, but most importantly I wasn’t settling on something that I didn’t like because of the price!!  Hard to believe I found this for under 100 bucks including shipping!  Now the next thing I’m going to have to do is accessorize it!!

If you’re looking for a bar cart, whatever the style… Vintage stores are a great start.  Or do what I did  and look online!! I am so excited to post more pictures of what I find to display on it.  The bottle of Goose will have to do for now :)

Mix and Match china

Are you bored with your same old white china?  I am!!  I have recently become OBSESSED with mixing and matching printed china!! It’s brilliant! For a few reasons… For a girl who is on a budget, I love being able to go into a vintage store or a home goods  and buy a few different patterned plates or blows, because let’s be honest there is always that one or two plates that you find that you love but not enough for a set of 4 or 6! .  And most of the time  you can get a plate for a few dollars and when you put them with other patterned plates it makes for a fab setting!.  It’s a great center piece to that girlfriend party you have or for a backyard barbecue! It’s an effortless and chic way to make a random plate look unique and special.  Another great way to find some pretty amazing pieces of china is to ask a family member for their old china that they don’t use anymore, but most importantly it would probably end up being FREE!!

Hello World

Hello Friends!

Well to begin, I should probably explain my lovely name of choice… Very ladylike, right?  My mother would probably be cringing if she saw this! But I am a whore, a whore for decor. So, I decided to go with a name that had some umm.. character, yes that’s it! I’ll just go with that.

I decided to do a blog for a few reasons… mainly, because I feel like there’s a lack of blogs about things that I like.  I know what you’re thinking… yes, I am aware that there are about a billion blogs referring to home decor, and where to find the most fabulous things that both you and I can’t afford.  I want to be able to show and inspire people to think outside the decor box and do something different.  Yes, I love crystal chandeliers and tufted headboards who doesn’t? And I can tell you that I have a LOT of crystal thing-a-ma-bobs.

Another reason is, I LIKE to shop… ask my husband.  So I figured why not stimulate the economy with helping you shop, or inspire you to turn something from drab to fab!

And most importantly is to bring back the tchotchke…No seriously… For those of you who are unaware of what a tchotchke is, it’s a knick knack.  Something small, sometimes funny or quirky that you may have seen at your grandma’s house growing up.  I am currently obsessed with anything to do with elephants.  You will find a few of them displayed in my home (pictures to come).

Finally, and most importantly I hope this blog inspires, teaches, and makes you laugh (either at me or at my witty jokes :)

I will be posting some of my newest projects and most recent vintage store finds later this week!

Until then,
